I’m Minji Park, a visual communication designer currently pursuing an MFA at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC). I explore the poetic interplay of text and images, focusing on how new meanings emerge when juxtaposed through sensory elements such as scent and touch. My practice involves creating soap castings, papercrafts, and artist books, where I experiment with narrative and genre to emphasize materiality and tactile experiences.
My long-standing interest in museums has shaped my current role at a design museum, where I engage with the presentation of design in an exhibition context. I am passionate about exploring how design can be exhibited in innovative ways, and I aspire to work as both a designer and artist to conceptualize and realize engaging, sensory-rich experiences.
